Reba McEntire Tickets
From her start singing the National Anthem at the National Rodeo Finals, Reba McEntire has made a name for herself as one of country music's all-time best female vocalists.
McEntire first hit the music scene in 1976 with her first single, "I Don't Want To Be A One-Night Stand." She had five top 40 hits on her second album, "Out Of A Dream" in 1979, including a remake of Patsy Cline's "Sweet Dreams" that cracked the top 20.
Her first top 10 hit came with "Up To Heaven" in 1980, and she had back-to-back number one hits in 1983 with "Can't Even Get The Blues" and "You're The First Time I've Thought About Leaving." She opened for such top performers as the Statler Brothers and Ronnie Milsap before breaking through in the mid 1980's.
Her album, "My Kind Of Country" in 1984 was a collection of covers that led to her first gold album, and the song "Somebody Should Leave" began a string of number one hits for the former teacher at Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
McEntire won the Country Music Association's Female Vocalist of the Year four straight times, the only female artist to achieve that record, and has also earned the group's Entertainer of the Year award. She has continued her success in recording with a long list of number one hits, including "New Fool At An Old Game" and "Does He Love You."
Her professional and personal life has endured its ups and downs over the years. In 1991, she lost seven of her band members and her road manager in an airplane crash. She also has expanded her talents into acting, appearing in several movies and TV shows, including a sitcom appropriately named, "Reba."
Early in 2008, McEntire hooked up with former American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson on the "Two Worlds, Two Voices" tour, and she is now out on her own supporting her own national tour.
