Stone Temple Pilots Tickets
Who knows what provoked it, but Velvet Revolver bandmate, Slash, let it out that frontman Scott Weiland will be reuniting with the Stone Temple Pilots for a U.S. tour sometime in the summer of 2008. Scott Weiland himself was quoted recently, saying, "be on the lookout" for an STP reunion in the coming months. And Ticket Express will bring you the news on Stone Temple Pilots tickets.
When the insanity of the hair-band era of the late 80's and early 90's gave way to grunge, bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam became instant hits and helped drag the movement begrudgingly into the mainstream.
Another band came along during that time that road alongside these grunge masters, yet were able to somehow pay homage to past eras with a unique sound that stretched beyond traditional grunge. Stone Temple Pilots was that band, and they made a name for themselves during the 90's with a unique sound that was steeped in grunge, yet flavored with traces of the past that helped them become one of the more popular bands of the era.
Led by sensual vocalist Scott Weiland, the band burst on the scene with "Sex Type Thing" in 1992, a song that combined grunge and metal for an audio assault that helped catapult the Stone Temple Pilots' debut album, "Core" into the mainstream.
The Stone Temple Pilots hit the big time with the single "Plush," a song that eventually earned the band a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance. The band put out five albums, but Weiland's ongoing battle with drugs stunted the band's growth and ultimately led to their breakup at the turn of the century.
The Stone Temple Pilots put out a greatest-hits record a few years ago, and recently announced they are reuniting for a full tour, beginning with the Rock on the Range festival this spring in Columbus, Ohio.
Stone Temple Pilots was one of the grunge era's heaviest bands, and they are as solid in concert as they are in the studio.
